THE EXPERIENCE
What can I expect from a “guided tasting”?
Each tasting “season” features a unique prix fixe menu of six drinks consisting of three spirits and three cocktails. Storytelling accompanies each new drink, with ample opportunity for socializing between each new tasting.

Does the experience take place in an indoor or outdoor venue?
The exhibition will be held in a covered, mixed indoor/outdoor venue.
How long does the experience last?
The visit will take around 90 to 120 minutes.
Is there air conditioning?

Is the experience accessible for deaf people?
We have existing relationships with experienced ASL interpreters who can be engaged at no additional cost with advanced notice by texting 213-513-7521 or emailing reservations@theobscure.com
What accessibility options do we have for someone visually impaired?
We provide assistance and audio guidance from our staff to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for visually impaired guests.
Will there be strobe lights?
Strobe lights and other flashing lights may be used during the event. Guests who are sensitive to such effects should take necessary precautions.
Will food and beverage be available on site for purchase?
Additional food and beverage may be available for purchase at The Rising Sun before and/or after the tasting. Check their website for hours of operation!
How do I request non-alcoholic cocktails?
Once your reservation is confirmed, forward it to reservations@theobscure.com and indicate how many in your party will be abstaining.
Can I take photos or record the experience?
You are welcome to take photos and videos of the experience, but no flash photography!. When taking photos, please make sure not to disturb other customers. Professional equipment and tripods are not permitted.
Are there chairs available? Can I be seated during the experience/exhibition?
Most of the experience is seated, and seating can be provided for any standing portions.
Will restrooms be available on site?
Gender neutral and accessible bathrooms are on site.
Are there vegan or gluten free options available?

How can I ensure food and/or drinks are free of potential allergens?
Before you arrive, we encourage you to contact our team and share your dietary needs and restrictions. On-site, please inform your server of any allergies or intolerances. Our staff is trained to guide you through the menu and provide detailed ingredient information so that you can make an informed choice.

Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are not required.
Do I need to arrive at the start of my scheduled session?
Doors will open promptly at the listed ticket time. Plan on arriving 15 minutes early for check-in. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
What happens if I arrive late?
Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.

Are service dogs allowed?
We welcome service animals at our establishment in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California state law. A service animal is defined as a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.
Please note that pets and emotional support animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and are not permitted in the dining areas.

Is there parking available?
Street parking is free and a paid lot sits adjacent to The Obscure. There is also a paid parking structure one block away in the 'At Mateo' complex. That said, we highly recommend Uber/Lyft or other rideshare options. Spirits and cocktails are generous and potent, so a designated driver is advised for all.
Note: Studio productions are a regular part of Arts District lift and they frequently close streets and/or parking lots for filming.
What if the weather is bad?
The event will proceed rain or shine. In case of severe weather conditions, updates and instructions will be provided through our official communication channels.
What are the prohibited items at the experience?
Flash photography, outside food and beverage, controlled substances, or anything which may disturb the other patrons.
